Microalgae-based biobatteries

Microalgae undergo photosynthesis, a process that uses CO2, water, and light to generate energy. During this process, a large number of electrons are released. These electrons can be captured and stored in a capacitor for later use, creating a battery.

An ecological battery

Unlike lithium-ion batteries which contain metals harmful to the environment, our bio-battery is compostable and promotes the reuse of microalgae.

Reliable charging, even overnight

Unlike solar panels that rely on the sun, microalgae biobatteries also work at night, thanks to the process of cellular respiration, which becomes the source of electrons in dark periods.
